Farmington City Festival Days

"Remember When..." Remember when Festival Days was called "Fiesta Days?" This year we will honor the past as we celebrate Festival Days 2008! This year Festival Days will be held on Saturday July 12th, 2008.
Outline of Festival Days Activities for 2008
MONDAY
Movie in the Park - Sponsored by Elite Craft Homes
We will be showing "Surf's Up" at dusk in Main Park.
TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY
3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Tournament taking place July 8th and 9th
Where: Heritage Park (1591 North 1075 West)
Time: Check in at 5:00pm to 5:30pm
Cost: $40.00 per team
Team Brackets: Junior High Boys
Junior High Girls
High School Boys
High School Girls
Adult Men
Adult Women
(Ages are determined by the grade you will be in for the upcoming ’08-’09 school year)

FRIDAY
Kid's Parade at Bus Park 6:00pm
Any kids who want to participate are welcome to come! Decorate your bikes, trikes, skateboards, and scooters in advance and come proudly parade your support and interest in the community! Popsicles will be served.

Summer Musical "Music Man"

Come enjoy a summer musical in Woodland Park with your family!
An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize - this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.
When: July 10th, 11th and 16th - 19th

Saint on the Seas Concert

A Pioneer Day's concert produced by Cori Connors.
Before they crossed the plains they crossed the ocean. A Musical Commemoration of the faith of 85,000 Latter-day-Saints who answered their prophet's call to gather in Zion. Performed throughout England and Scandinavia in 2001, this all acoustic version uses indigenous acoustic instruments and follows the experiences of saints aboard ship. Howdy Pardner! Come and learn line dances, the country 2-step, and moves for country swing dancing including spins and tricks!

Class will be held for the first 30-60 minutes and then we'll let you loose to roam the open range of country dance with your pardner!

Ballroom Dance Class

Want a great date night idea that's cheaper than dinner and a movie? Then bring your sweetheart or your favorite dance partner to a fun evening of Ballroom Dance!
When: April 19th, 2008
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Community Arts Center Basement, 120 South Main, Farmington
The evening will begin with dance lessons for the first 35-45 minutes and the rest of the time is reserved for you and your partner to dance the night away!
The cost is only $7 per couple for Farmington Residents
$10 per couple for Non-Residents

Festival Days Race Registration

Registration for the Festival Days Races (including the 5K, 10K, and 1/2 Marathon) begins on Monday, April 14th. Registration can also be completed in person at the city offices or at Strider's in Layton. There will be no day-of registration, however, interested individuals can register on Friday, July 11th at the Community Arts Center (120 South Main).
Festival Days 2008 will be held Saturday, July 12th. The 1/2 Marathon will begin at 6:30am and the 5K and 10K at 6:45am. All races begin at the Farmington City Swimming Pool.

Jon Schmidt in Concert

Miss Farmington presents Jon Schmidt in Concert as part of her Concert Series benefitting the Children's Miracle Network.
When: This Thursday - March 27th, 2008
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Community Arts Center, 120 South Main Street, Farmington
Ticket Cost: $15
All proceeds will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Farmington Youth City Council is taking place this Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00am. It includes children age 12 and under.
The event has been moved to Main Park due to construction taking place at Woodland Park.

Senior Citizen Night

Farmington Youth City Council and Farmington City Parks and Recreation are excited to announce Senior Citizen Night. This monthly event, held on a Wednesday evening from 6:00pm - 7:30pm, was created to provide an opportunity for socializing and just having a grand old time!
Come and join us this Wednesday, February 27th for a Movie Night!
All Senior Night events will be held at the Community Arts Center, located at 120 South Main Street in Farmington. Questions can be directed to Parks and Recreation at 451-0953.
