Farmington Creek

Description: This is the best-known of the Farmington trails and, perhaps, the oldest. When all segments are finished, one will be afforded a rich diversity of environments by hiking from the wetlands of the Great Salt Lake, along riparian paths, through desert terrain, across green foothills, to the cool forests of Sunset Campground almost eight miles away. Most of the trail segments are complete now. The trail accesses the Davis County Fairgrounds, the Justice Center, the Lagoon Campground, the back of Lagoon’s zoo, the Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington Pond, Farmington Canyon, and the Sunset Campground. Future access will also be possible to the planned Great Salt Lake Nature Center at Farmington Bay. The most popular section of this trail is the Lagoon Trail segment which is a pleasant stroll over four scenic footbridges and along a tree-lined stream. This section is well maintained and gives a cool nature walk on a hot day.
